ABOUT US

About  EMPOWER.

We provide professional volunteer management consulting and support services to nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies. Or as we like to say, "We help make nonprofits as great as their missions."

In our 29 years, Empower has helped over 175 clients, in over 400 projects, totaling over 95,000 volunteer hours (based on 100 hours average/project).  These volunteer hours compared to paid consultants ($150/hour average) results in an incredible cost savings to the nonprofit community to date of about $11.875 million. Some of the projects Empower has completed covered board development, volunteer management, marketing planning, research, Executive Director coaching, strategic planning, and business management.

Funding Our NonProfit.

Empower’s operational and program expenses are funded through individual gifts, corporate gifts, foundation grants, and consulting project contracts with nonprofit entities. Since we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible.

Our History.

Empower (formerly known as ESCCO) was founded in 1995 as an affiliate of the Executive Service Corps - United States (ESC-US), a nationwide organization of retired men and women who serve as business management consultants to other nonprofit organizations. Affiliate members share information and meet annually at a national conference hosted by the ESC-US Board of Directors. Oklahoma City hosted the national conference in 2006 and again in 2016.

There are more than 13 affiliates across the country with budgets ranging from a few thousand dollars to several million. Each is responsible for its own funding. ESC-US has a web site at http://www.escus.org.
